Jul 12, 2016 · VPN: The University of Florida Virtual Private Network (VPN) Service is designed to allow university faculty, staff, and students to securely "tunnel" into campus over commodity networks, such as the Internet, and access services as if the user were on campus. It is also ideal for use over campus wireless networks. Virtual Private Network (VPN) enables faculty, staff, and students who are off-campus to securely access UF services that are generally only available when connected to the campus network. In layman language, the VPN provides a secure “tunnel” that routes your computer’s network traffic through the UF network. Instructions for Using VPN Client. To establish your secure connection, run the Cisco AnyConnect client application; When prompted, specify the connection required and click on the “Connect” button When connecting the first time, you should “Connect to: vpn.ufl.edu”. We recommend you append /campus to your VPN logon Username (i.e., username@ufl.edu/campus). Once you login and connect, the VPN Client is virtually placing your home computer on the campus network.
